Calling all unapologetic Content Strategists in the Northeast and beyond, Technically Media is excited to be a part of a group announcing the Philly Content Strategy meetup. We love this industry and want to see it grow, by doing our part as a regional hub to promote the mission and message of practitioners everywhere. Lots of programming to come, but join us for the kick-off on Monday, April 25 in City of Brotherly Love, as part of Philly Tech Week. We’ll even tell you where to nab the best cheesesteak (it ain’t Pat’s or Geno’s). Hope to see you there.
The full details of the event are after the jump.
We are excited to host our first event on the first day of Philly Tech Week, a week long series of events celebrating Technology in Philly. People from all disciplines are invited to join us for an evening that celebrates and explores Content Strategy in the Philadelphia Region.
To start the event, the Organizers of Philadehia’s Content Strategy Group will share how they discovered the discipline of Content Strategy and give a brief introduction to content challengens in their industry:
Brian James Kirk, Technically Media: News Media
Vanessa Gennarelli, Flat World Knowledge: Publishing
Kelani Nichole, Content Distillery: User Experience Design
After a short introduction to Content Strategy from a practicioners perspective, attendees will be asked to choose from a number of questions related to Content Strategy displayed on large sheets of paper around the classroom, finding the one they’d most like to discuss with fellow attendees.
These questions will explore different facets of the discipline, and will cater to a whole range of knowledge: whether you’re learning for the first time about Content Strategy, have encountered it a few times, or are a seasoned veteran of the tools and techniques, there will be something for you to explore.
The groups will be asked to discuss the question, and compile a short presentation on the different perspectives and answers that come up in their conversation. After discussion in small groups we’ll go around the room and listen as each group presents their answers.
This collaborative exploration of the wide spectrum of Content Strategy principles, practices, tools and approaches will help to paint a broad picture of the discipline, while providing a fun introduction to the larger Philly tech community.
And everyone who participates will have punch and pie!
What now? Join the meetup group or sign-up for the event.
